We at Rain Brothers, LLC have been designing, constructing, and installing rainwater harvesting systems -- both residential- and commercial-scale -- in the Ohio Region for nearly a decade, and we have used virtually every rainwater downspout diverter on the market. With the diverters on the market, there are recurring problems, including:
1) Difficult installation
2) Insufficient inlet size into the barrel/tank
3) Insufficient overflow, causing diverter to back up drainage
4) Working only with the smallest downspouts (i.e., 2"x3")
The Universal FlexiFit Downspout Diverter Kit addresses these issues and offers a thoughtful, high-quality, affordable solution.
For under $30, you get:
*Two hole saws for drilling/installing valves and downspout diverter (2-1/8", 1-1/2")
*1-1/2" rubber grommet for water-tight inlet into tank/barrel
*31" of flexible hose to link barrel/tank to downspout diverter
*Rubber "Flexi-Fit" downspout diverter choose either Rectangular (2"x3", 3"x4"downspouts) and Round (3" or 4" round downspouts). Click here for more information on the Round Downspout Diverter.
*Two self-tapping screws
*A winterizing cap for quick and easy winterization of your downspout.
Flexi-Fit Downspout Diverter installs in three easy steps:
1) Drill hole in downspout (hole saw included in kit). For 2"x3" downspouts, drill hole in front of downspout. For 3"x4" downspouts, drill hole in the side of the downspout (3" side). Ensure hole is level with inlet on barrel. Click here for more information on the Round Downspout Diverter.
2) Insert diverter and fasten diverter to downspout with included self-tap screws
3) Attach fill hose to diverter and into barrel, and start collecting rain!
We've had a rain barrel for at least a year but hadn't installed it because of the difficulty of installing a diverter. We ordered the Flexfit diverter kit last week and installed it over the weekend. It took about 15 minutes to level the spot where the barrel was to sit, figure out where to drill the holes in the barrel and gutter, and install the diverter kit. It happened to start raining shortly after we set up the rain barrel. We went outside and looked in the barrel maybe 30 minutes after it started raining an it was already full! We were super impressed. The only problem we had was that we couldn't push the end of the hose fully into the hole we cut in the barrel...it could be that the barrel flexed as we were cutting the hole and the hole didn't come out quite the right size. But it still worked fine. Unknown on 5th Sep 2017
Directions and installation of the diverter were very explicit and so easy!! When I get another barrel, I will certainly order another kit! Marianne Nutt on 17th Jul 2017
Very easy to install, I set it up to my needs and I am a happy camper I now collect rain water!c email@example.com on 3rd Jul 2017
I picked up a 50 gallon pickle barrel from the VA Soil and Water Conservation service and started 'diverter research' on the internet. Meanwhile, I built an 18' square brick pedestal to about 2 feet high next to a 2 by 3 gutter which drains half of a 13' by 20' screened porch adjacent to our vegetable garden. This diverter system looked easy to install and would have the most tidy look when done. I emailed the company a question, which was promptly answered. So I ordered. My husband did the rest in about 20 minutes, including time to find his drill and level. The hole saws worked well. Parts fit nicely. Overnight the barrel filled as we had a decent rain, so feeling rather satisfied. Barbara on 5th May 2017
I'm always nervous purchasing a kit for something when I can't see or touch the materials to gauge their quality beforehand. For my new 50gal rain barrel, this kit was exactly what I would have hoped it would be. The instructions were clear, the parts all fit correctly and were of good quality materials, and when I had a question, the phone support was right on. I would definitely recommend this product. The rain barrel attachment kit is as good as advertised. The product is well worth the purchase price., Al George on 19th Jan 2017
This kit works for a specific location because modifying the downpour would've been undesirable. The diverter works work and I didn't have to worry about devising an overflow solution. However, neither hole saw parts worked - not on the rubber barrel and not on the tin downpour. This made the installation process longer and slightly painful since it is hard to cut through the thick rubber. Overall, I would recommend the product to people. I will purchase more but wish there is a configuration for just the parts that work, minus the parts that don't. Angela on 28th Nov 2016

This converter kit is perfect for connecting a rain barrel to the 2x3 gutter at the side of my house. Component pieces and length of the pipe are just right. The red drill heads fit regular power drill and worked with precision. I hardly ever used a power drill before and was able to install this kit myself. Love the cut and attach design.
