We at Rain Brothers, LLC have been designing, constructing, and installing rainwater harvesting systems -- both residential- and commercial-scale -- in the Ohio Region for nearly a decade, and we have used virtually every rainwater downspout diverter on the market. With the diverters on the market, there are recurring problems, including:
1) Difficult installation
2) Insufficient inlet size into the barrel/tank
3) Insufficient overflow, causing diverter to back up drainage
4) Working only with the smallest downspouts (i.e., 2"x3")
The Universal FlexiFit Downspout Diverter Kit addresses these issues and offers a thoughtful, high-quality, affordable solution.
For under $30, you get:
*Two hole saws for drilling/installing valves and downspout diverter (2-1/8", 1-1/2")
*1-1/2" rubber seal for water-tight inlet into tank/barrel
*31" accordion style Flexifit fill hose to link barrel/tank to downspout diverter
*Rubber Flexi-Fit downspout diverter : choose either Standard 2x3", Rectangular 3x4", or Round (3" and 4" round downspouts). Click here for more information on the Round Downspout Diverter.
*Two self-tapping screws
*A winterizing cap for quick and easy winterization of your downspout.
Flexi-Fit Downspout Diverter installs in three easy steps:
1) Drill hole in downspout (hole saw included in kit). For 2"x3" downspouts, drill hole in front of downspout. For 3"x4" downspouts, drill hole in the side of the downspout (3" side). Ensure hole is level with inlet on barrel. Click here for more information on the Round Downspout Diverter.
2) Insert diverter and fasten diverter to downspout with included self-tap screws
3) Attach fill hose to diverter and into barrel, and start collecting rain!
From the simplicity of the design and the ease of installation this product not only looks neat and tidy but will last a lifetime due to the quality materials used in its construction. Well done Ken on 25th May 2016
Worked great with my new rain barrel! Thank you. Debra on 2nd May 2016
The kit itself works just fine but the Hole Saw set is so cheap it couldn't drill the hole in my aluminium downspout. I had to finish the job with my own bi-metallic Hole Saw. Paul M., Québec, Canada on 19th Apr 2016
It was easy to install and it works well on the 3 x 4 in downspout. i'm very satisfied with it. Doug on 12th Apr 2016
I just installed the diverter yesterday. The instuctions were easy to understand and I was done in less than 40 minutes.
It rained last night, so let the collecting begin. Keith Kinslow on 6th Apr 2016
Ordered this kit to get the hole saws and enough individual parts for a second rain barrel. I'd looked at a variety of diverters on the net and chose this one. I wasn't disappointed.
Easy installation, well made and it performs well.
With the single hole needed in the downspout you can easily install the "plug" for the winter. No removing sections of your downspouts needed.
I would recommend this product to anyone needing a diverter set up. David S Malcolm on 30th Mar 2016
After much research, I decided to purchase the flexifit diverter kit. I selected this kit primarily because it did not require the down spout to be cut completely through. Another benefit of the kit is that it contained the hole saws needed for the installation. Measuring for the proper hole placement is the key. Once the locations are selected installation is easy and quick. Hunt on 3rd Nov 2015
BUY IT! They work great. Randy on 11th Jul 2015
I researched many diverters but this one caught my eye due to its design and associated installation instructions. The kit gave me everything I needed to complete the installation in 15 minutes, just before it started to rain. I love it when something works as advertised. I highly recommend this product. This really was a simple installation. I research rain diverters for a week before purchasing this one. The problem with the others is that they all seemed too obtrusive....practically taking over the gutter. They were big and clunky....and if they ever needed to be eliminated they would require replacing gutter. This was simply drilling 2 holes...and when you dont need it, you use the included cap. My 50gal barrel filled in less than 30 min with a good rain. And then the rain continued past the diverter like designed. And it look better than the rest. Unknown on 18th Jun 2015
